Endometriosis across the ages

One in 10 people assigned female at birth suffer with endometriosis. It is rated as one of the top 15 most painful diseases by the NHS, and yet, diagnosis takes an average of eight years in the UK. Treatment options and understanding of the illness have not much advanced in 4o years and medics still routinley offer outdated and incorrect information to patients, inhibiting better management with the limited chemical and surgical options available.

I spoke to three women of different ages to hear of their endometriosis journey, as well as to a top gynae surgeon and endometriosis specialist about his take on what we need to do to better help sufferers, leading to millions of readers being able to access this information in the Daily Mirror, Record and Express.
